Last week, I got an official ADHD diagnosis.
When I saw it in my health app, my first reaction was bittersweet. I wondered who I might have been without ADHD all my life. I thought about who I’ve ultimately become by trying to mask and control it.
It’s a lot to process, but I’m not sitting here feeling sorry for myself. I’m proud of who I am and what I’m building. Honestly, the diagnosis just gave a name to something I’ve been working with my whole life. It also gives credibility to everything I do – building systems for the way people think. Of course the woman who’s neurodivergent (love or hate the word) cares deeply about how you think and designing your business and life in a way that supports it.
I’m not interested in medication right now. I’d rather keep doing what I’ve always done: find the tools and structures that let me work with how my brain actually moves. Fast. Enthusiastic. A million ideas, quick decisions, and a deep need for things to make sense.
And when I don’t have the words? I create things. So here’s something I built this week because it was fun and I couldn’t stop myself – a game called “Who do you ask?”
I get a lot of business questions, especially when setting up CRM and project management tools and workflows. Some questions belong to a lawyer or a bookkeeper, and I’d never want to steer you wrong.
Do you know who to ask?
A Lawyer, a Bookkeeper, or me (Erica)?
I hope you have some wonderful plans this weekend. Reach out if you ever want to talk business, systems, mental health, or the human experience. I’m a total nerd for it!
